John Musyimi

John is married to Mumbi and together, they are raising four children- Taji, Tami, Tia and Tando.

John was converted to Christ as a teenager in the Year 2000. He came out of a Roman Catholic background. Hearing the gospel preached on a Christian radio broadcast, he was brought to recognize his need for Christ. Not long after conversion, he developed a deep desire to teach God’s word to people. He thus began preaching during his high school years.

He studied for a BA in Design at the University of Nairobi. At the end of his undergraduate studies, he sensed a call to full-time pastoral ministry and promptly joined an internship program offered by Mamlaka Hill Chapel in 2011. There, he further developed as a pastor and preacher. He also launched a youth ministry dubbed LIMITLESS, launched the ENTRUST Gospel Conference, published 3 books and regularly lent pulpit capacity for the Church’s main services. In October 2018, he left Mamlaka and joined Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Soon after, In July 2019, John participated in the Capitol Hill Baptist Church internship program under Dr. Mark Dever. There, he further clarified and deepened his convictions concerning the nature and purpose of the local church. Upon returning to Nairobi, he was called to serve as a pastor at EBC in August of 2020 which he did until August 2023. At EBC he helped to oversee membership matters, church administration and missions. With the affirmation and support of EBC, John and a fellow elder (Richard Kariuki) were commissioned to serve as missionaries of EBC and set off to plant North Point Baptist Church. After several months of meeting and preparing with a core team, John and Richard led in constituting North Point Baptist Church on the 1st of October.

On October 15th 2023, the North Point Baptist congregation voted to call John as an elder. John was also simultaneously called by the congregation to serve in a full time capacity under the designation of lead pastor.
