Richard Chege

Richard became a Christian in 2000 at Nairobi Christian Church when God provided a brother to sit with him and scripturally explain the gospel. In view of his sinful past and the forgiveness granted in Jesus Christ, by God’s grace he was greatly convicted of sin and that led to his repentance and eventual baptism.

2 years later Richard married Margaret Nyambura, whom he had known for several years prior and who had also come to faith at the same church. God has blessed them with 4 children- Alvin Kariuki (23), Paula (19), Sara Wakonyo (16) and Leroy Mburu (8)

Between the years 2009-2015, Richard became desperate to grow into a deeper knowledge of God through his word, which saw him scouting for other churches. By God’s providence, he was invited to Emmanuel Baptist Church. Together with Margaret, they pursued membership immediately and were voted-in, in 2017. In 2018 he was called as a deacon and served until 2022 when he was voted in to serve as an elder. With the affirmation and support of EBC, Richard and a fellow elder (John Musyimi) were commissioned to serve as missionaries of EBC and set off to plant North Point Baptist Church. After several months of meeting and preparing with a core team, Richard and John led in constituting North Point Baptist Church on the 1st of October.

Richard works as the Children Hunger Fund, Country Coordinator for Kenya. He is passionate about people and counseling biblically. His favorite Verse: Galatians 2:20

On October 15th 2023, the North Point Baptist congregation voted to call Richard as an elder.
