Kelvin Mwenda

Mwenda came to faith while on campus. By God’s grace, he was keen to grow and understand the gospel and God provided him with many brothers who mentored him and prayed with him as he navigated his early days in the faith. In view of his sinful past, he struggled to grasp the reality of forgiveness that he had received in Christ Jesus until much later in life when the precious truth of the gospel and the assurance of salvation refreshed his soul into firm belief.

After campus, Mwenda joined an internship program offered by Mamlaka Hill Chapel where he served in the youth ministry.Upon completion of his internship, he decided to pursue a career in construction. While navigating a crisis in his life, God led him to the ministry of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he committed to joining its membership and in turn grew in his faith. Here, the Lord provided him with other older men who invested in mentoring him and teaching him the truth of God.This cemented his grounding and growth in God’s word, as he had previously been taught while in youth ministry back in campus.

It was at EBC that his desire to serve the local church was fanned into flame. During this time, there were ongoing plans to plant a church. Following the affirmation and support of EBC back in 2023, he joined other brothers and sisters who were sent to plant North Point Baptist Church. His convictions concerning the local church deepened further in October 2023 leading him to avail himself of the many opportunities to serve God and God’s people. The Lord used such a setting to grow him into being a healthy member of a local church, who plays an active and vital role in the overall health of the body of Christ.

Mwenda is the husband of one, Mercy Mwenda. He pursued a degree in Quantity Surveying at the University of Nairobi and has been pursuing post graduate studies in Construction Management.
