Luke Sloterdyke

Luke is married to Allyson, and together they have two daughters, Jozafina Joy and Eliza Eden.

Luke came to faith in Christ as a teenager, emerging from a Lutheran background. Through exposure to the gospel in an evangelistic Bible study led by a missionary, he became convinced of his sin and his need for a Savior. Through God’s Word, he was called to repentance and placed his faith in Christ as Lord.

Luke holds a BS in Global Resource Systems and a BS in Environmental Science from Iowa State University. During his undergraduate studies, he and his wife discerned a call to cross-cultural missions in partnership with their sending church, Cornerstone Church of Ames, Iowa. Following the completion of his undergraduate education, Luke pursued theological training at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he earned a Master of Theological Studies in Missions and a Master of Divinity.

In 2021, Luke and Allyson relocated to Nairobi, Kenya, having been commissioned and sent from Cornerstone Church of Ames to serve as missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB). Luke currently serves as the Nairobi City Team Leader for the IMB. With a deep desire to see churches planted among every nation and people group, Luke and Allyson prayerfully sought a local church home and joyfully joined the membership of North Point Baptist Church in 2024.

On April 19, 2026, the congregation of North Point Baptist Church voted to call Luke to serve as an elder.
